Averte Update Covid-19 – March, 23rd 2020

Hi All –

Averte remains symptom free and in overall good spirits.  We are very proud of both our clients and staff in how they are responding to this difficult challenge.  Here is the latest and what is on our minds.

Our individual roles:

Program managers of each home continue to do a wonderful and professional job keeping the day to day operations flowing. Although we are limiting our staff and the amount of employees in and out of the house, we remain fully staffed.

Our clinical staff, led by Liz Macaulay, are seeing individuals at distance, sometimes walking outside, a limited amount of time throughout the week to remain connected. In addition to in-person therapy, the team is using telemedicine to accent therapy more often for the near future.

Matt Daly, our program director, continues to support the program managers as well as being on our Covid 19 response team.

Susan Schlenker continues to run our business office as usual.

Stephen Schramm and Steven Williams are leading our Covid responses as well as continuing some of their typical duties. We are in close contact with both of our state’s licensing organizations as well as colleagues around the country sharing best practices.  Our Covid team meets several times a day, 7 days a week.

In addition to our 3 apartments being ready for any need to isolate an individual showing symptoms or being tested, we have rented two motel rooms 3 miles south of our main campus. Although we are high hopes of not needing any or all of these units, we are trying to be as proactive and prepared as possible.

Averte is doing its best to provide as much fun/entertainment as possible as our clients are extremely restricted.  One family is sending art supplies and has suggested other’s may want to sponsor a pizza night or the like in an individual home.  Please feel free to brainstorm with us and send any ideas or offers via email.

We remain vigilant and understand that every little thing matters.

Respectfully,

The Averte team
